HUGE FAN!
I love the individual pots and overall setup. I chose the sukiyaki broth (really great flavor) with the prime rib meat and udon noodles. Absolutely delicious! It is a lot of food so I only ordered the small meat portion because it comes with the vegetables and melon and egg. You also have the option of rice but I was struggling to finish everything.
My friend taught me how she cooks in the pot. Onions, and meat first to get the meat flavor. Throw in the melon cause it takes a while then the egg.
It was extremely tasty and I was very full at the end of all of it. The only negative I would say is the parking. It's a bit impossible to park, I already assume I won't find parking and immediately try to find street parking. I would recommend visitng this place at least once :) -

Shabu Shabu has a special place in my heart for being the first Shabu place I've ever tried. It's a pretty intimate spot with limited seating and a huge bar top. From my experiences, there's usually one server that is actually pretty quick and attentive even during busy times.
The menu is simple with a few soup choices and meat/seafood/vegetarian options with varying prices. They actually have an AYCE menu, too!
My go to is the sukiyaki soup ($2 extra) with udon noodles and small ribeye. They provide veggies and rice as requested. There's also minced garlic, green onions and other stuff you may add for your preference. I especially love that they have "ghost pepper" extract to make the soup ultra spicy! I usually add 2-3 drips.
The entire meal is pretty customizable and makes me feel like a chef as I'm cooking it up. It's always a great dining experience and will continue to be one of my top choices when craving Shabu! -

Looks like the restaurant is closed down.
There is a realtors box on front door and its 5:15 pm Thursday evening and no signs of life in the restaurant. -

This will probably be my new go to place for shabu shabu in San Diego. What I enjoyed most about this restaurant compared to most places I go to was the affordability and the ability to customize without breaking the bank. Here, you can choose from a few different soup broths (spicy miso, sukiyaki, Thai, and water). Then, you choose your meal by choosing a protein and a size (small, medium, large).
Sharing here is a bit more inconvenient than at other hot pot places. The pots are placed in front of you on individual stoves that cannot be moved so people sharing might have to reach over a long ways to access the pot, however, they provide bowls and large laddles to distribute individual portions.. additionally, they charge an extra $6 sharing fee which seems to cover the price of rice and extra necessities. I think if you are going to share, you should weigh the benefits of just ordering a small portion of another protein option.
They provide dipping suaces such as ponzu and sesame sauce to dip your meat into. The veggies include spinach, Napa cabbage, carrots, kabocha, enoki and shitake mushrooms. The give you a healthy portion of both rice and noodles and the meat was delicious and tasted fresh.
Even though there was only one server working during the lunch hour that I went to, he seemed very attentive to all of the guests at the restaurant.
I look forward to stopping by again soon. -

I have a review already up but I'm gonna do it again. I love this place and the service is always great.
It's definitely an experience that everyone should try out and you will get hooked.
Oh and don't forget the hot drop to add some spice.
